2nd Nordic Biochar Seminar - Deadline for Abstract Submission Extended until 13 December!

14 - 16 February 2013 in Helsinki, Finland

The deadline for the submission of abstracts was extended until 13 December 2012! The preliminary programme  of the  2. Nordic Biochar Seminar is published now! Biochar research in the Nordic countries has mushroomed since 2009 and experiments on the agricultural use of biochar are in progress in Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland and Estonia. On the other hand, biochar in the Nordic countries is increasingly used also for producing bioenergy. To target these issues, The Nordic Association of Agricultural Scientists (NJF) is organizing "The 2nd Nordic Biochar Seminar" on 14.-16. February 2013 in Helsinki, Finland.

For the seminar programme see NJF's website here! Additionally, the deadline for the final registration was extended for the 2. Nordic Biochar Seminar to 13.12., as this was requested by several research groups!

The Seminar will bring together the key biochar researchers, companies and NGOs from Nordic countries. Naturally, the participants of the  seminar are not by far limited by mere Nordics, rather it would be a come-together event for key biochar researchers from all over world! So, if you are interested in biochar, welcome to Helsinki!

Detailed information on the seminar and registration at the NJF website

The Seminar will bring together the key biochar researchers, companies and NGOs from Nordic countries. Furthermore, in connection to the Seminar, there will be the meeting of the EU COST Action TD1107 Working Group 2 (Biochar for land use implementation, which includes participants from other parts of the EU).

Altogether the NJF is expecting about 80-110 participants from all over Europe! The NJF cordially welcomes all interested researchesrs to participate in this multi-disciplinary milestone event in Northern European biochar research!
